The leaves on the trees are falling but property prices are still rising!!
It’s that time of the year again when we bring to you our Basingstoke property market update, it’s been an exciting and slightly nerve racking period with lots of speculation surrounding Britain exiting the European Union, and I think it’s safe to say opinions were and are still very much divided. The impact on the housing market, as I type, in Basingstoke has been minimal. With the media declaring that we are to see dramatic decreases in property prices we have received a number of low offers from cautious buyers. But with the limited supply, strong demand, low interest rate mortgages and fantastic deals we are still seeing asking prices exceeded with strong offers from houses hunters keen to get on the property market and out of paying ever increasing rental prices.
Charlie joined us in April and has played an important role within the office with our continued expansion plans. With the housing market in Basingstoke remaining positive this year and with no sign of change, we have decided to employ a sixth member of staff to cover the increasing work load we have been receiving throughout the year. Patrick joined Barons in July as a trainee estate agent and has been learning the ropes over the past 3 months. With his happy demeanour and eagerness to learn, he is quickly proving to be a valuable asset to our team. Barons have been active in the local community in the last few months, most recently we were main event sponsors of the Farleigh Wallop 10k run which was organised by the Hatch Warren runners, our very own Phil ran in the event wearing the number 1 bib and out of 250 runners came….. 28th, not bad on a hangover! The event was fantastically run by a great team and we very much hope we can be involved in next year’s race! We also sponsored the Basingfield Court residential care home summer fete in which there was a good attendance with all proceeds going towards the elderly residents activities fund…We even donated a £200 cash price for the lucky winner of the raffle!
